About The Author: Chitra is a debutant writer whose passion for reading has evolved into writing. She has been writing on various platforms and finally has published her very first book of short stories.
Summary Of The Book: It’s a collection of short stories exploring the complexity of human emotions be it love, anger, fear, jealousy, revenge, and everything in between.
1. Can you tell us a little about your book?
My book Tangled Destiny is a collection of short stories which covers a wide spectrum of emotions from fear to faith, love to hate, compassion to aggression and everything in between.
2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?
In my well travelled life I have come across many cultures and shades of complex emotions and behaviors. This book is an attempt to portray those emotions and behaviors which are entangled within all of us.
3. What got you writing in the first place?
I’ve always had a passion for stories; beginning with reading and evolving into writing. Storytelling is also the most ancient and effective art of communication.
4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
Honestly speaking, I wasn’t very confident and quite skeptical of my work. However, thanks to the support of my friends, family and the amazing team at The Write Order I was able to get help to shape my draft into something that I am now proud to call my first book.
5 Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
One of my stories titled “Resurgence” is a comparison of the world for women now versus how it used to be for us. It sheds light on the checkered past of our culture and the importance of women empowerment in it.
6 What makes your book the one to read?
Each story is like my baby so I can’t help being biased but this book is a total page turner with unique emotions explored in each of them.
7 What was the best advice you got while writing?
Keep writing.
8 Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
I was entranced by the wizarding world that JK Rowling spun with her words from the very first chapter back I read back in the early 2000s. Ill have to say my favorite book is the Half Blood Prince and Snape is my favorite character.
9 What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
Never underestimate the power of drafts.
10 What was your hardest scene to write?
One of my stories deals with bullying which was very heartbreaking to write about.
11 Do you have another plot brewing?
Hopefully in the near future but for now just a pot of coffee.
