Let us dive into the interview with the author to know the journey of “Musings”.
Can you tell us a little about your book?
A collection of Poems and Thoughts penned as life goes on. Some bitter, some sweet, some full of hope, and some that plunge you into the depths of despair. These ‘Musings’ as I call them, tug at the strings of your heart and compel you to look at life from the prism of my flirtations with life. This is an Anthology of Poems and Reflections that I have captured and written over time.
Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out-of-the-blue idea?
This Anthology has been in the works for some time now and shaped by experiences with people, and events, both happy and sad. The moment of truth came when my sister passed away due to cancer and I realized how fickle life could be! She was a great supporter of my writings and being an accomplished Academician herself, always wanted me to publish my works. This is a dedication to her and her memory!
What got you writing in the first place?
I have always had a very creative instinct and could convert them to verse very easily!
What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
Overwhelmed and over the moon!
Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
It’s all about me and who I represent!
What makes your book the one to read?
It discovers the very many facets of life that one can relate to.
What was the best advice you got while writing?
Be yourself. Be passionate.
Who is your all-time favorite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
Harper Lee: To Kill a Mockingbird.
What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
Dream.
What was your hardest scene to write?
Eulogies to my sister!
Do you have another plot brewing?
Maybe.
On that note, we cannot wait for what comes in this author’s story.
