About The Author: We live in a world where a child often prefers a screen to a book. Simple activities that spur the mind’s imagination lie forgotten as children seek easy, sometimes mindless entertainment. This book, designed carefully by a mother, and a professional, is packed full of activities that grow a child’s imagination by taking them, on a journey of exploring their inner selves. The activities listed here have been practiced by children widely before being published in the form of a book. I, as a writer and a mother, understand the crucial importance of not only keeping your child engaged, but fruitfully so if the pandemic has taught us anything it is that increasing screen times can not be a good thing for our children. I hope you and your child have fun working through this book.
Summary Of The Book: Defying popular convention this book works to give your children a companion who can help them find themselves. The activities here are designed with the intention of encouraging children to look within and identify their own likes and dislikes. Each activity comes bundled with its own takeaways for the child. It not only allows for social and emotional learning but also helps them practice patience while engaging them in meaningful activities. The activities compiled here are a mix of memory tasks, imagination activities, crafts as well as activities that teach the importance of patience and mindfulness.
- Can you tell us a little about your book?
This book is a self-awareness journal to let your child explore themselves. This book helps people become aware of their own fears, strengths, aspirations, and dreams. A child goes through a journey of questions and activities to help them have an endless imagination. Kids nowadays don’t explore inwards and keep following the outward trends set by the media and cartoons. Hence, this book gives them quiet time to know themselves. - Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out-of-the-blue idea?
Being a mother, I felt the need for activities and such platforms that give meaningful and purposeful content to kids. There is already a lot of chaos from too much exposure to digital entertainment. Kids are exposed to games with violence and self-harming images. Hence, it motivated me to create valuable content for kids. - What got you writing in the first place?
My inspiration is my own kid, Rahil, whose questions, expectations, and experiences made me think of creating such books. - What was the best advice you got while writing?
Keep it simple - Who’s your all-time favorite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
Neale Donald Walsh - Do you have another plot brewing?
Yes, I have another book being designed.
