“Amrutmanthan ka vish” – By Ramendra Singh

About The Author: Ramendra Shekhar Singh has had a rocky career. A journey from the Armed Forces to the most reputed multinationals in senior positions has not only been eventful but has also given huge exposure to understanding various facets of life and closely watching human endurance and tenacity. As a voracious reader, the author has been able to imbibe the best of both Hindi and English literature.

Now retired, the author is permanently settled in Mumbai with his wife Neelam and two daughters, Ritumbhara and Vasundhara.

Summary Of The Book: “Amrutmanthan ka vish” is the author’s third published book.

The versatility of his writing comes from the fact that each of his novels is of an absolutely different genre, covering subjects on a wide spectrum with authenticity and freshness.

“Amrutmanthan ka vish” is the intense story of a female protagonist who hails from a small town but has a star in her eyes and is fired with irrepressible ambition. Unlike classical female characters, she is a bit of an iconoclast and nonconformist.

The story revolves around her, and her indulgence and machinations get murkier and more fatal as she moves ahead towards the goal she sets.

The language of the book is lucid and simple, and the tempo of the book is unstoppable and fierce.

An unputdownable binge reading of 172 pages

1. Can you tell us a little about your book?

A crime and suspense thriller that can push the readers into a cliffhanger situation. The story revolves around a female protagonist and an anti-hero who is suave, gentle, intelligent, but of extremely malicious intent. One may sink deeper and deeper as the story navigates through intrigues, conspiracies, and a few amorous relationships.

2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?

The novel is woven around a realm of fantasy and imagination. However, the realism in creating characters and situations is noteworthy. The salient features of the book are the emphasis on objectivity, accurate observation, and lucid but unrestrained criticism of the social environment and moral judgements.

3. What got you writing in the first place?

Writing is largely about expressing oneself with passion to an audience that can genuinely relate to it. An extremely cathartic experience and the right vehicle to express grief, joy, fear, and the widest range of human emotions I was also confident that my knowledge of language would help me steer ahead with impeccable clarity.

4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?

I wasn’t discouraged; on the contrary, I was thrilled that I was able to weave a story and express my thoughts with clarity and conviction. It was a framework that was to be improved, embellished, corrected, and made ready to connect with the readers.

5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?

The story is replete with twists and turns, crests and troughs, and each page is like a brick embedded in the foundation; one cannot pick up a single brick of the edifice.

6. What makes your book the one to read?

The book is a high-octane drama with thrills, suspense, and crime and is quintessentially crime fiction. The book takes you through a few intense moments of hate, love, and deceit. and amorous. A cliffhanger that cannot be left half way will definitely keep the readers riveted until the last page.

7. What was the best advice you got while writing?

Simplicity of content and lucidity of language are always the keys.

8. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?

Favourite John Steinbeck and his book “Grapes of Wrath” have been my all-time favourite.

9. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?

Staying poised, authentic, and simple may win you a huge readership. Do not copy someone else’s story and ideas and garnish them with your own imagination to weave a story line. Such a short cut to fame is ephemeral and not long-lasting.

10. What was your hardest scene to write?

Writing is an evolutionary process subject to change and relevance. It is difficult to pick up a specific portion because every page goes on to contribute to wholesome reading.

11. Do you have another plot brewing?

Yes . I am in the process of writing a new period novel cast in a different genre.
