Q1. Tell us a bit about your book. What is its core concept?

Ans. While you are taking your products or services across the borders of Language, either you manage the translation process yourself or with the help of a Language Manager who is fluent in the language of the target audience. In the earlier books in the series ‘Translation Process Outsourcing’ it was explained how to properly give instructions to the Translation teams, and the steps to become the best translator. In this book, the effective way of managing the Translation Process from the perspective of a Language Manager, so that both the translation team and the review team will become highly productive and the customer experience would be great.

Q2. What inspired you to write this book?

Ans-  I believe Language is one of the important aspects of Accessibility. In a country like India, when a person does not have English knowledge, they should be able to access information, mobile applications, and shopping websites with ease in their own mother tongue. Any person who has difficulty in hearing should get subtitles for their favorite movies and series in their own language. A person selling Tanjore dolls, Tirunelveli Halwa, Lonavala Chikki, or Assam Tea to customers in the United States, United Kingdom, or United Arab Emirates should sell it in the language of their prospective clients. So, Translation as a whole including Transcreation, Localization, and Globalization is an essential service much needed in today’s world. To properly manage the translation process ‘Language Managers’ are needed. Translation projects fail due to a lack of clarity from the Language Managers. Also, sometimes Language managers become the reason for getting bad translations. All these, along with the solution for the same, are covered in the third book of the Translation Process Outsourcing series which is ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective Language Managers’.

Q3. Could you give us a sneak peek at your upcoming book?

Ans- I am writing a book for the general audience, which will be ‘7 Habits of High Achievers’. I hope it will be a useful book for the general audience.
