Police Allegedly Collude with Land Mafia in Sohna; Senior Citizens Falsely Accused

Sohna, Haryana: A serious land dispute has emerged in Sohna’s Tolni village, where citizens allege police collusion with land mafia, leading to harassment and false accusations. Himanshu Gupta and his wife, Bhavna Gupta, revealed in a video that on February 8, 2025, at around midnight, police officers forcefully entered their home without a warrant, conducted an illegal search, and confiscated all mobile phones. Bhavna stated that the police misbehaved and used abusive language, while Himanshu accused ASI Shyam Lal and other officers of being intoxicated and assaulting them.

Roots of the Land Dispute

The issue arose when property sellers accused builder Anurag Malhotra, Amit Banga, and their firm NUMIT Farms LLP of harassment. Directors of Goldkist Developers Pvt. Ltd.—Brahm Prakash (72), Raj Bala (58), and Balwan Singh (65)—sold approximately 8+ acres of agricultural land to Anurag Malhotra and Amit Banga during 2020-21. The land was sold for agricultural purposes, as documented in official registration papers.

The conflict escalated after the Haryana government introduced the farmhouse policy in September 2021. This policy permitted farmhouses on government roads, prompting buyers to pressure sellers to either surrender their land for free or transfer it to the government. When the sellers refused, legal action was initiated against them, leading to continuous police harassment and fabricated allegations. The matter is currently pending in court.

Alleged Police Collusion and Harassment

February 6, 2025: Police arrested senior citizen Balwan Singh despite his pre-existing bail. New charges were added to the FIR to intensify the case. The police refused to disclose his whereabouts, only stating that he was hospitalized without revealing the hospital’s name.

February 8, 2025: At midnight, police raided Rajesh’s home, assaulted his son Himanshu, and vandalized the property, despite Rajesh having no involvement in the dispute. Victims claim police, under the influence of buyers, are deliberately harassing and falsely implicating them.

Family members allege that the police are treating them like wanted criminals, collaborating with Anurag Malhotra, and subjecting them to physical and mental torture. Fear for their lives has left them in a state of extreme distress.

Court Case Ignored; Police Acting Under Pressure

The victims emphasize that since the case is already in court, any police action should be legally questionable. However, they believe that law enforcement is acting under political or financial influence, pressuring them unlawfully. They demand an independent investigation by an unbiased agency to ensure justice and protection from further harassment.
