Delhi Police has arrested Kewal Kishan Kumar, the owner of Shakti Bhog Atta, in a case of cheating. Recently in another case only Kishan Kumar came out on bail.
According to the statement issued by the Delhi Police, the accused and other accused directors of the company had issued post dated checks of Rs 10 crore to the complainant against the purchase of raw material. Later, these checks were dishonored as they were issued on behalf of his company which was already under liquidation and its account was already blocked. Following the complaint, the Economic Offenses Wing of Delhi Police took this action.
ED has also taken action
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Kewal Krishan Kumar, CMD of M/s Shakti Bhog Foods Limited. ED had also raided only 9 locations of Kishan Kumar in Delhi and Haryana. During this, many suspicious documents and digital evidence were in the hands of the agency. The CBI had registered an FIR only against Kishan Kumar on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, and criminal behavior. On the basis of this, ED started a money laundering investigation against him. The owner of Shakti Bhog Atta is accused of misappropriation of funds through his companies.
Shakti Bhog Foods Limited is a Delhi-based company that manufactures flour, rice, biscuits, and cookies under the Shakti Bhog brand. Earlier this year, the CBI had registered a case against the company for defrauding 10 banks to the tune of Rs 3,269.42 crore.
