About the author: Mohammed Shuheb, a writer from Karnataka living in the beautiful city of Bengaluru, is an artist who is in love with words and is inclined towards literature and extempore poetry.He has a few poems which he calls “Untitled Words” posted on his Instagram. He is a Batman with an attitude of Iron Man living in reality, working on night shifts as a corporate enslaved person with a love for words, and his first love has made him a writer. He believes his first book will be the stepping stone for his upcoming achievements.

2. Can you tell us a little about your book?
It’s a memoir about my first love, written as a gift for my lover and a record of our time together.
3. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?
This was an idea brewed at a café turning it into reality. I wanted to present my love with a gift that would last forever. And love alone is enough that can be channeled into inspiration for writing a book.
4. What got you writing in the first place?
The love for the loved one and the idea of keeping her memories alive through the pages.
5. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
I have never written a book, yet the first draft of Muskaan brought smiles to my face and memories to life. It was a proud moment for me.
6. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
The entire story is close to my heart—particularly the parts where I felt overwhelmed: when I met her for the first time, when I proposed to her, and the last chapter of the book.
7. What makes your book the one to read?
Almost everyone has their love story, but is it romantic and crazy like mine? Well, It’s a gift to my first love, a story that recounts our classic love story in 2007, with tiny details that cherish the 90’s era, cherishing beautiful moments of love. It’s a debut book from a night shift corporate employee.
8. What was the best advice you got while writing?
This is my first book, so I cannot offer advice to other writers. But I recommend that they feel every word they write, and write what they feel. Writing can be overwhelming at times, but don’t stop—keep writing. Write for yourself because when writing from the heart, the story takes on a life of its own and becomes more important than skillful writing techniques.
9. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
I haven’t read many books but these are my favorite authors and the books from them I loved; are John Green, Chetan Bhagat, Durjoy Datta and Nicholas Spark, and the books The fault in our stars, Two States, If it’s not forever – its not love and Message in a bottle
10. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
People’s comments and views are beyond your control, so stop worrying about them. Just focus on writing for yourself!
11. What was your hardest scene to write?
The hardest scenes to write are in the fifth and sixth chapters of the book ( The Separation and A Final Gift To Her )
12. Do you have another plot brewing?
There are two plots in mind but confused about which one to go for but will start writing another book soon.
