December 7th, 2023 As Cyclone Michaung moves towards the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh in districts of East Godavari, Kainada & Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema causing widespread devastation, numerous families find themselves battling with the aftermath of intense rainfall, strong winds, and extensive flooding. These unfortunate souls have either lost their homes or their source of livelihood. They were able to build a life for themselves after years of hard work & toil. But in the face of Nature’s fury, everyone is helpless.
iPledge Foundation with their volunteer staff & Few Student Union Groups in Andhra Pradesh are their on-ground partners aims to provide essential relief to the victims of Cyclone Michaung. The focus is to give immediate assistance to families whose homes have been washed away, leaving them vulnerable to the harsh conditions following the cyclone. essentials including groceries, emergency kits with tarpaulins, biscuits, torchlights, and mosquito nets are distributed with these helpless souls in these districts.
Sheeba Gollapalli who heads the iPledge Foundation in Andhra Pradesh has track record in disaster relief and rehabilitation situations. With over 9 years of experience working under the agenda of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals ( SDG’s) , has been at the forefront of disaster response, providing aid to those affected by earthquakes, tsunamis, cyclones, and floods across various regions in South India.
