Footballer turn actor Ozu Barua is all set for his Bollywood debut alongside Sharman Joshi and Shreya Sharan. Yamini Films, the Hyderabad-based production by Papa Rao Biyyala, is coming up with its next musical feature called Music School where Ozu has played a pivotal role. Ilaiyaraaja, the prolific composer and lyricist has written 12 original songs for the project where Ozu will be seen portraying his character with equal ease as playing football.
The film is all about our prevailing Education System and how parents put pressure on children to be competitive in their studies, thereby leaving no time to pursue art, culture, or their passion.
‘Music School’ cast is comprised of Sharman Joshi, Shriya Saran, Ozu Barua, Gracy Goswami, Suhasini Mulay, Benjamin Gilani, Prakash Raj, Vinay Varma, and many more known faces.
“Personally this film means a lot to me” exclaims Ozu Barua and ads “a big thanks to Yamini films, director Papa Rao sir to give me such an opportunity. I never expected my first project to be this grand”. The footballer loves to spend more time studying filmmaking these days!
Since his childhood, Ozu is used to visiting his father’s film shoots, various film festivals, award ceremonies, etc, however, he considers ‘Music School’ to be a completely different experience, after all, facing the camera for the first time is a memory for a lifetime! The actor is blessed to have a creative family and exposed to filmmaking since his early days.
Ozu extends his gratitude to the entire cast and crew, who helped him to learn new things about film and filmmaking. When it comes to Ilaiyaraaja, Ozu is short of words to express his feeling, he feels fortunate to work with the living legend, and he is a part of this film makes this project more exciting. Similarly, Cinematographer Kiran Deohans has also inspired Ozu with his sheer professionalism and dedication,” For a new comer like me, its nothing but a blessing to receive such a learning project where we all turned out to be a big family “ admits Ozu.
While being asked on the subject of the film, Ozu says that the film is dealing with the burning issues of today’s society and hence the subject is very close to his heart. However he also thanks his stars for having creative parents, who encourage him to follow his own path. Ozu loves to spend time discussing various aspects of filmmaking with his parents and enjoying this new phase of life.
Music School is about the pressure of the unimaginative education system on children, which aims only to make them doctors or engineers, leaving no time for art, music, or sports. It’s a different kind of film and Ozu urges all readers to witness it to understand it better.
