The Divine Rise Of The Mystic Eklavya Sakpal-One Of The Most Youngest Filmmaker, Mythologist & Demonologist

Just after finished giving the last exam-paper of SSC board, Eklavya Sakpal went to one recording studio and gave a job interview there. At the age of sixteen, his last day of exam became his first day of work at the recording studio which was very close to his house. Eklavya started working there as an office boy.

Those days there were no cloud services or platforms like Google Drive to store and share files. Therefore, along with his regular office work, Eklavya also worked as a runner, delivering these CDs to different recording studios and television channels across the city.

His monthly salary back then was just two thousand rupees. However, the experience he gained during this time was far more valuable than money could ever measure. While working in this recording studio Eklavya came in contact with many professionals associated with the Films and Television industry. Through one of such contacts, Eklavya reached the production house which was known as the main hub of producing television serials those days. There he joined the Casting team. Unfortunately, life soon took an unexpected turn. Within a few months of starting his new job, he faced a personal tragedy when he lost his father.

Till now Eklavya was just working for his own experience, learnings and seeing the inside world of the Film and television industry but after his father’s passing, Eklavya had to work for his family responsibilities, for the education of his three young brothers, for their basic needs and for not letting his mother and his young brothers ever lose their faith in God.

Since childhood, Eklavya believed that everything in this world happens for a divine reason. Holding on to this belief, he continued moving forward despite the hardships.

To support his family financially, in the mornings Eklavya worked as a freelance casting coordinator and began working night shifts at an international call-centre where his work was to prepare detailed reports on patients’ medical histories for doctors based in the USA.

Interestingly, the way he wrote these reports often sounded more like a film scripts. One Canadian doctor working in the USA noticed his unique writing style and got so highly impressed that she approached him to write a short film for a friend of hers, which she herself was producing. Eklavya took the opportunity seriously and from his deep mythological knowledge, he wrote his first short film titled Asura. The film was originally released in Canada and received appreciation from various quarters. With this work, Eklavya got recognised as a writer with his own new way of story telling.

However, the excitement of seeing a film written by him faded in just a few days and life returned to its normal routine.

Then came another turning point in his life.

One night, Eklavya received a message from a friend of the same Canadian doctor for whom he wrote Asura. She invited him to join her team in making documentaries for an International Studios. From here Eklavya dedicated himself completely to the filmmaking.

By the age of nineteen, all his hobbies turned into his profession and he started travelling across the length and breath of India. Travelling became the source of his learning and worked like a fuel for his soul. Journeys were now not just about visiting different locations. It was about witnessing different cultures and getting spiritual insights that fed his storytelling.

Putting all his experiences and his deep wisdom into the art of storytelling he crafted his first documentary for an international studio which was filmed in Varanasi and came to be known as “Into the heart of Shiva.”

At the age of twenty, he bought his first SUV for his family and it was here that he realised how sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and then in the middle of nowhere you just find your true self.

His journey as a filmmaker continued to expand. Over time, he started writing theatrical plays and full-length feature films. He directed commercial advertisements for top-brands, short films for the corporates, episodes for mythological television shows and horror content for OTT platforms such as Netflix, Eros and MX Player; but he never limited his professional growth within the boundaries of the glamour world.

Parallel to his creative work, Eklavya gradually built a strong identity in the spiritual and intellectual world by approaching mythology and demonology through a scientific perspective. This aspect of his work brought him recognition and respect at a global level.

From beginning his career as a teenage office boy to becoming a respected mystic scholar, his journey has crowned him with many titles such as filmmaker, mythologist, demonologist, psychic & spiritual guide. However, Eklavya believes that the real reason behind all his success is the feminine energy in his life. He gives the first credit to his mother, whom he calls his first teacher. After his mother, he acknowledges every woman who has supported him during the different stages of his journey and even today, those who are an integral part of his life stand firmly beside him, supporting and nurturing all his artistic and spiritual ventures.
