Asmita Chakraborty, Indian model and architect, brought pride to the nation by winning the Best Talent of the World special award at the recently concluded Miss Tourism World beauty pageant. The world finals of the international beauty pageant took place on December 22, 2023, in Quanzhou City, China. Asmita surpassed 64 candidates from different parts of the world to secure this prestigious award.
During the talent competition of the beauty pageant, she showcased a fusion of various Indian dance form. Starting with the dance form from the Eastern region of India, she gradually transitioned into dances of North, West and South of India, intending to highlight the diverse and colourful culture of India. This fusion dance received immense appreciation from both the judges and the audience, ultimately earning her the Best Talent of the World special award.
Asmita, originally from West Bengal, currently resides in C R Park, New Delhi. Spending most of her childhood in the Middle Eastern nations of Oman and Yemen before moving to New Delhi, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from IGDTUW, Delhi, and works as an architect. Besides her architectural pursuits, she is a model and social activist, having walked the runway for several well-known fashion brands. Actively involved with NDSWA, an NGO that supports women empowerment and self-reliance, Asmita demonstrates her commitment to social causes.
Daughter to a Civil Engineer father and a mother who is the Principal of a South Delhi School, Asmita has always been an academically inclined student since childhood. She is also a trained dancer and singer, specializing in Indian Classical music and the Bharatnatyam dance form. She started her pageantry with the Times Campus Princess in 2020 and was Femina Miss India West Bengal Finalist in 2020. She participated in Glamanand Supermodel India 2021 and was crowned Miss Tourism India. Winning this prestigious title granted her the opportunity to represent India at the 2023 Miss Tourism World competition.
Having been part of several national and regional beauty pageants in the past, Asmita now holds an international award under her possession.”
