About Madhumita Mahato:

She is a teacher by profession with a distinction in spoken English from Trinity College, London, and I am currently working with the government of Jharkhand, teaching upper primary students. She was one of the top five national winners of a quiz contest called ‘Chinmaya Quotient,’ where she represented my previous school. She also holds a Diploma in Creative Writing in English with a specialization in Poetry, from IGNOU. Apart from her passion for poetry, singing is also one of my hobbies. However, nothing binds her more than penning down her feelings in black and white.

About “Peace Petals”:

In ‘Peace Petals,’ the power of harmony, peace, and the quest for it have been beautifully woven into verses of poetry. Through eloquent and heartfelt poems that explore varied themes and topics, the book explores the timeless yearning for peace that has persisted since the dawn of humanity. With eloquence and wisdom, the poet calls upon all to embrace peace, not just in words but in deeds, in our actions, in our very breath.

  1. The Medium of Poetry:

Madhumita describes her poetry as a “gist” of her ideas and feelings about life, a spontaneous overflow of emotions expressed concisely. Poetry, for her, is a powerful vehicle for saying little yet conveying much, akin to the sentiments expressed by William Wordsworth.

  1. Inspiration and Themes:

The themes of Madhumita’s poems draw inspiration from humanity, common people, environmental concerns, and the pursuit of peace and happiness. Her experiences and motivations act as catalysts, ensuring a continuous flow of inspiration that reflects in the tone and structure of her verses.

  1. Navigating Interpretation:

Acknowledging the interpretative nature of poetry, Madhumita crafts verses that speak of common human experiences. Her poems invite readers to handle their responses and reactions, allowing room for individual interpretation while resonating with shared emotions.

  1. Crafting Musicality:

While musicality wasn’t the primary focus, Madhumita considers rhyme and rhythm, recognizing their role in captivating readers. The serenity of tone and the subtle musical elements contribute to an immersive and engaging reading experience.

  1. Influence of Personal Journey:

Madhumita’s personal journey, experiences, and interactions shape the themes and imagery in her poetry. Her poems, as pieces of her heart, draw from a rich repository of poetic inspiration, evolving from life’s diverse moments of pain, pleasure, and everything in between.

  1. Poetry as Commentary:

For Madhumita, poetry is a window to the world, a reflection of her perspectives, prerogatives, and possibilities. Her verses serve as commentary on the human experience, offering stories that resonate with readers on the worldly stage.

  1. Writing Rituals:

As the Principal Incharge of a school and a dedicated mother, Madhumita doesn’t adhere to strict writing routines. Instead, writing becomes a virtuous endeavor aligned with her consciousness and conscientiousness, a passion that she dedicates time to whenever the mood strikes.

“Peace Petals” invites readers to embark on a journey where poetry becomes a symphony of harmony and reflection.
