1. Can you tell us a little about your book?

‘Ek Arjun Duryodhan Hazar’ is a collection of poems that represent my poetic journey spanning two decades. It is a reflection of my continuous evolution as a writer. I endeavor to distill complex emotions and observations into a tapestry of simplicity. The world around me, its myriad facets and the dynamic flux of existence, all conspire to leave indelible imprints on my mind, which I endeavor to encapsulate within the confines of my words.

2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I started a routine of writing consistently and began sharing my poems with friends and family. However, it was my daughter who ignited the idea of preserving these poems in a more permanent form by encouraging me to create videos of them. As time passed, some of my friends started suggesting that I must publish these poems.

3. What got you writing in the first place?

My journey as a writer has been deeply influenced by the lessons of my own life. From a young age, I witness the fragility of existence, experiencing my sensitivity as a companion through life’s intricate passages. When I was younger, I grappled with solitude during moments of recovery from a serious childhood injury, a time when my mother was occupied with the demands of daily life. In the quiet walls of my room, I remember sketching out lines in my mind, however, would not be able to translate them into writing , due to limitations of my youth.

Yet, as the years went by, so did my relationship with solitude and the written word. I found solace in quiet spaces, where I could observe the world, where birds soared, ants marched, and clouds drifted through the expansive sky. By the tender age of 10 or 11, I bestowed upon myself the name “A Cloud” (Badal), a symbolic representation of my evolving identity. It was during this transformative period that I penned my inaugural poem, a testament to the power of growth and the emergence of my poetic voice.

मैं बादल हूं ,
वही बादल हूं
जो नभ में विचारा करते हैं ,
उमड़ घुमड़ कर भोली बोली प्रकृति से बातें करते हैं.

4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?

My journey as a writer and the publication of my latest collection of poems mark a significant milestone in my life, evoking a sense of profound joy. Reflecting on my literary path, I recall that my initial foray into the world of publishing began at the age of 17 in 1973 when my first novel was published. This literary endeavor, born during my school days and nurtured in my first year of college, laid the foundation for my literary pursuits.

Subsequently, I embarked on another novel, “Bike Shun,” which I completed in 1975, and it was published in 1989. After a six-year hiatus, I ventured into the realm of poetry, and in 1995, I published my first collection of poems, titled “Ram Rajya.”

The demands of my daily business activities left me with limited time for writing, but a turning point in my life compelled me to seek assistance. At this pivotal moment, I turned to the teachings of the “Srimad Bhagavad Gita” and began reading it. As was my habit, I found inspiration in its verses and started composing poetry inspired by its wisdom. In the span of just 11 months, I completed “Kavita Mein Gita,” which I published in 2003, alongside another novel, “Nai Subah.”

Keep trying and continue to pen down your thoughts. Write down whatever comes to your mind as writing is like painting on a blank wall.

10. How was your publishing experience with the Write Order?

I’m thrilled to say that it’s truly remarkable. The team at WRITE ORDER is performing exceptionally well, and this holds special significance for me. In my life, I’ve faced countless rejections from renowned publishers who, in their time, wouldn’t even glance at my handwritten manuscripts. They cited the challenges of allocating space and the hesitance to invest in an unknown author. Now, with the dedicated efforts of WRITE ORDER, there’s a newfound source of inspiration for aspiring writers. They are provided with the opportunity to have their works published with relative ease. This is a heartening development that can nurture and uplift the dreams of emerging writers.
