Summary Of The Book: Since you are here, you might already know that Jupiter is not a planet but is a cute little dog. Little pawsome Jupiter meets Lily at a roadside eatery and what follows next is a rollercoaster journey filled with emotions and adventure. In his quest to find a home and meet his parent, Jupiter lands on Lily’s lap. Find out who is Lily and where is Jupiter’s home in the book. Welcome to Jupiter’s world.

1. Can you tell us a little about your

The book is about the roller coaster journey of little Jupiter (an indie stray), his insecurities, his emotions and his longing to find a loving and caring pet. Did he find a parent? Oh yes, he did, not once but twice.

2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?

I have actually rescued Jupiter and handed him over to the animal rehabilitation centre in Tezpur, Assam back in 2021.

3. What got you writing in the first place?

I have always wanted to write. I remember collecting beautiful and cute diaries from places all over and write into them. My first write up was a poem on spiders, which was horrible, but I kept it close to my heart as my first piece of write up.

4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?

”Bas sapne adhoore hi reh jaenge”. I loved the story but the book structure and editing was poor. But then continuous editing and proof reading made it worth it. I am so happy with the end result now.

5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?

The character of Lily resembles me. It was me who found the cute dog at a roadside eatery back in 2021. Named him Jupiter and handed him to the rehabilitation centre. Hence there can’t be any special part. The whole story is close to my heart.

6. What makes your book the one to read?

Aren’t dogs a man’s best friend. This book will be read and loved by many because the book shows that humanity is above everything. And you won’t just find beautiful cute dogs in the book but handsome dogs with a band-aid, a plaster or on a wheelchair, but still rocking the show.

7. What was the best advice you got while writing?

Just start writing. Things will fall in place.

8. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?

I remember my Mom got me some Enid Blyton from a book fair when I was just 8 years old. I never touched them till I reached grade 5. But once I did, I never looked back. Famous Five, secret seven were some of my favourite collection from her books.

9. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?

If I can write, you can too. I have spent a year waiting for big publication houses to revert me with an acceptance letter to publish my book. That never happened. So, do not waste your time like me, just go for a good publication house and publish your work. So grateful for this world of self publication. Our main motto as writers should be to write and spread happiness and love. Lets focus on that.

10. What was your hardest scene to write?

For me, giving away to Jupiter in real life was the toughest decision. On one hand I had my flight back to Delhi and on the other hand, little Jupiter crying and acting all cute. Imagine my dilemma. For me putting my real emotions between Lily and Jupiter during their separation was the hardest.

11. Do you have another plot brewing?

Oh yes, now there is no stopping.
