Rath graduated from BPFTIO in the year 1997 in cinematography and has been working as a director, writer and DOP in Bollywood. The amalgamation of filmmaking and solving social issues can be seen in various commercial Ads, documentaries, feature films and corporate avs. directed by Rath in the past 20 years. He has made films based on child malnutrition, leprosy, cancer, child labour and mentally challenged kids.
Rath has also been the empanelled director for UNICEF, Doordarshan and BPFTIO – Odisha for numerous government projects. This amazing director has won more than 175 international awards for making cinema on societal troubles. His film NO TOBACCO, which is a film based on cancer has won 10 awards, and his other films: RHYTHM OF LIFE on child malnutrition with legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has won three awards, NEW HORIZON on leprosy has also won a couple awards. CHILD-FRIENDLY POLICE SYSTEM was a film for UNICEF on child rights and BLUE MOUNTAINS, a feature film in which Rath worked as a DOP won best international children film in 2015 organised by CSFI. WORLD RECORDS [website: www.indiasworldrecords.co.in ] is called FOR ME FOR THE WORLD and is based on girl child adoption and women’s education, pertaining to a campaign launched by the Indian government known as BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO and has been awarded 125 awards worldwide. India’s World Records has registered Rath’s name under the film making category.
