1.What inspired you to write this particular book, and how did the idea for the story come to you?
The story has always existed; it simply has to be told. I wanted to share this narrative with people and use it to revisit my life’s experiences. I wanted to test my ability to write an entire novel in English, something I had never done before since I had learned in Hindi.
- Can you share some insights into your writing process? Do you follow a specific routine or have any unique rituals that help you get into the creative flow?
I don’t follow any particular pattern. It’s an impromptu creative process. My writing comes to me as I go.
3.The characters in your book are quite distinct and memorable. Are they based on real people, or did they evolve purely from your imagination?
The narrative is partly autobiographical. The main character is real, but the others are a combination of my imagination and the numerous people I have encountered throughout my life.
4.Your book delves into [specific theme or issue]. What motivated you to explore this theme, and what messages or discussions do you hope readers will take away from your work?
The portrayal of my life path was the primary goal. I was unambitious. I followed my life’s path without any objectives in mind. But I took advantage of every chance life gave me and, fortunately, made the right choices. I had no fear of challenges, long hours, or hard labor. Although difficult, the effort has been worthwhile.
5.The world-building in your novel is incredibly rich and immersive. How did you go about creating the setting, and did you draw inspiration from any real-world locations or historical events?
.My inspiration came from actual phrases and places I visited.
- As a writer, how do you balance the need for originality with the expectations of the genre? Were there any challenges in putting your unique spin on familiar elements?
I keep my composure and focus on one problem at a time.
- The pacing of the story is well-crafted, keeping readers engaged from start to finish. Can you share your approach to maintaining tension and momentum throughout the narrative?
My strategy was straightforward, and now that I’m thinking back, I hate to think of the difficult scenario I had to face.
- In the age of rapidly changing media and reader preferences, how do you see the role of traditional storytelling evolving, and how do you adapt your writing to connect with contemporary audiences?
.There will always be a place for storytelling in human life. It is an effective tool for sharing, communication, trade, creative expression, and much more. I believe the story itself is what makes any audience, regardless of time period, connect. The media could change to digital, audio, visual, etc.
I haven’t done anything particularly unique, but I did ask a few readers of my novel who represent a range of ages and sensibilities to provide input. It was affirmative, which just strengthened my conviction. Furthermore, no one is being praised nor denigrated in this scenario. It is merely a recounting of events from a life. I have maintained it organic and fundamental, as it is the fundamental human connection. When they read it, I’m sure my readers will notice that. I’ll offer some comments from the trial reading to help you understand its appeal: “It’s like a movie, don’t want to stop watching.” That is evidence of the connection in and of itself.
