1. Can you tell us a little about your book?
This is a murder mystery that takes place in a famous school. We follow the journey of Lily, an amateur detective, and her two friends as they try and solve the case and find out who’s behind the mysterious happenings- a ghost. Or human?…
2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out-of-the-blue idea?
Back when I was in 7th grade, I heard a rumour about a ghost in our school auditorium. Initially, I started to write about that, but new ideas started forming in my mind, and I changed the plot. Kept the auditorium part, though.
3. What got you writing in the first place?
I have been interested in reading novels since a young age and wanted to become an author myself. I want my readers to feel the same fascination as I myself felt while reading novels.
4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
I was satisfied by how the plot turned out. Some loopholes were present here and there; which I corrected afterwards.
5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
The reunion part. The nostalgia of meeting old friends.
6. What makes your book the one to read?
It’s a great book for people who love mystery. It has fiction interwined with reality. If you enjoy reading books like Agatha Christie, then you’d probably enjoy this too.
7. What was the best advice you got while writing?
I didn’t tell many people about it, so I didn’t get advice. I look forward to advice and reviews when it gets published.
8. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
Agatha Christie-The murder on Orient express,JK Rowling-Harry Potter
9. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
My tip would be to jot down the ideas as soon as they start forming in your mind. When a rough sketch is ready, bring the ideas together and write the first draft.
10. What was your hardest scene to write?
The climax of the story was the hardest to write as it involved tying up the loose ends and explaining to the readers how Lily, the protagonist, finds out who is behind all the mysterious happenings.
11. Do you have another plot brewing?
Yes, another mystery with the same trio♡
