There is no stopping the story of Kerala! The Adah Sharma-starrer film is witnessing a huge footfall from the audience. The controversial film has been making headlines ever since its release. The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen, recently entered the Rs 150 crore club. There was a slight drop in the collections of the film on 17 May. However, it still managed to collect a whopping Rs 165 crore at the domestic box office. Despite several controversies, The Kerala Story has emerged as the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023.

The film was released on May 5 amidst all the controversies surrounding The Kerala Story. Since then it has been unstoppable at the box office. The film was embroiled in many controversies and had to face a ban. Nevertheless, these decisions have not affected its box office performance. The film has been banned in West Bengal and is also not running in Tamil Nadu.
On 16 May, The Kerala Story managed to cross Rs 150 crore (net) in theatres. As per early estimates, the film showed tremendous growth on May 13, and May 17. It reportedly earned Rs 9.25 crore at the box office. Hence, the total collection of Kerala Story now stands at Rs 165.94 crore. On May 17, Hindi had a total occupancy of 17.97 percent.

Kerala Ki Kahani is the story of a Hindu woman from Kerala, played by Adah Sharma. He is brainwashed to convert to Islam and sent to Syria, where he is forced to join the ISIS terrorist organization. There he is tortured. The film is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amritlal Shah. The film claims to be based on real-life incidents where around 32,000 women from Kerala are trapped under this dangerous scheme.
