About The Author: Aamir Imami is from small town of Rajasthan currently living in Jaipur. In 2017 an stuck in his mind during his regular doctor visit since then he has been writing about this book and wants to took an initiative about BDD.

Summary Of The Book: Book revolves around middle class Muslim boy who’s been diagnosed with a disorder which is completely unknown to his knowledge. Writer wants to tell about the journey of a boy who lived with this disorder and how it is very difficult to cop up in a middle class conservative Muslim family. Writer wants to aware people’s and want to give a hope whoever is suffering from these disorders.

1. Can you tell us a little about your book?

Writer creates a character “haamid” from his own experiences who has been dealing with the disorder he wasn’t aware of and the writer wants to show the struggles of the patients of these kinds of disorders and how important mental health is.

2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?

In 2017 during his regular doctor’s visit the writer came to know a story through his doctor which shocked him and he realised how dangerous this disorder is and after this he’s been thinking to write about this disorder.

3. What got you writing in the first place?

An incident which shook him which happened to a patient back in 2017.

4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?

It was good, better than he thought. It was fast paced and moving.

5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?

A part where he realised that something is off with him it’s not normal and then he decided to go to a psychiatrist and came to know about this disorder.

6. What makes your book the one to read?

In today’s era most of us are obsessed with someone’s look rather than his whole personality. Nowadays most of the peoples in society judges a person by his looks which is not entirely wrong but when we start objectifying them on basis of their looks it can be disheartening to them so it’s a effort to tell people through “haamid” that “looks doesn’t matter” it’s not just a quote it’s a whole idea that we should support.

7. What was the best advice you got while writing?

Keep it short and fast paced and don’t bore the audience with unnecessary detailing.

8. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?

Colleen hoover, It ends with us

9. What was your hardest scene to write?

When he realised that he has to move on with his one sided love.

11. Do you have another plot brewing?

Yes.
