Former Delhi government minister and AAP leader Satyendar Jain is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail in a money laundering case. Recently after getting a setback from the Delhi High Court, he has now moved to the Supreme Court for his bail.
Delhi HC order challenged
According to news agency ANI, Satyendar Jain has approached the Supreme Court for bail in money laundering. He has challenged the Supreme Court Delhi High Court’s order rejecting the bail.
Jain can influence witnesses: HC
Recently, the Delhi High Court rejected the bail plea of Satyendar Jain. The court said that he had held important positions and could influence the witnesses. Upholding the decision of the trial court, the bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma said that there was no illegality or error in the said order. The court also refused to grant bail to the other accused Ankush Jain and Vaibhav Jain in the case.

Earlier on March 22, Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma had reserved his judgment after hearing the arguments of ED (Enforcement Directorate) and Jain’s lawyers. Please tell that Satyendar Jain had earlier told the court that no case was made out against him and he had fully cooperated in the investigation and there was no need to continue his imprisonment after the charge sheet was filed.

AAP leader is in jail for 10 months
Jain has challenged the decision of denial of bail in the High Court. It is noteworthy that Satyendar Jain is lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi under judicial custody from 12 June 2022. During the last hearing in the case, the ED had raised apprehensions about the lives of witnesses if Jain was granted bail. The ED had said that Jain had held a high political position and was an influential person. So by getting him bail, he can influence the witnesses.
