Summary of the book: What happened when your childhood’s secret haunted you for a life, and one day that scary memories and the person you love the most left you at the same moment. Was it a blessing or the beginning of a new curse in Adhith’s life? Return Where You Belong is the untold story of two hearts who never shared their deepest secrets or feelings to each other, until destiny orchestrated the series of events in their lives.

  1. Can you tell us a little about your book?
My very first Novel – Return Where You Belong is about a simple yet engaging love-story. The plot revolves around the protagonist Adhith Anand’s life experiences that held him back through-out his life. He had faced certain incidents in his childhood that wouldn’t allow him to move ahead with the person he loves the most. The theme is about how to recognize your shortcomings and finally wave back at happiness.
  2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?
Completely Out of The Blue idea, I didn’t plan any previous version, any particular scene, nothing. The story I have written was all about the connection with my creativity and the God within. Everytime I sit to write I simply pray to the Highest Power to channel the story, blog or article in a way it wants me to write.
  3. What got you writing in the first place?
For me, writing is equivalent to breathing. I can’t imagine a single day without crafting my thoughts into some serious blogs or articles. I’ve read a lot since my childhood. So, when people asked me what I would become when I grew up, my only answer was “a writer.” Like I said, it made me feel connected to the source within.
  4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
Scary, unsure, and terrifying. I wasn’t sure if I would reach out to any publication house regarding the further process. But then, I created, re-created, and felt, okay this is the high time. So, it was like a Go For It switch that flipped inside.
  5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
Crying—it sounds weird, I know, but I myself was crying with each draft that had something emotional or vulnerable in it. We often fail to release the storm we’ve buried inside our hearts. But writing about my characters’ pain and how they tackled it connected me with them the most.
  6. What makes your book the one to read?
Falling in love is easy, but staying in love is tough, it is the hardest part I have experienced by myself and other people I know. We thought having someone besides us is enough, but are you really enough for that person? What efforts are you making for the other person to stay in your life? Reading this novel will surely make you question your simplest choices. And also provide the answers by itself.
  7. What was the best advice you got while writing?
I didn’t get any outside support, but I keep talking with myself while writing— Just write, that’s the key. Don’t look for the weather to change, don’t search for a peaceful environment as well. You are here to create something beautiful, something that God has blessed you with, so just do it. Never question your abilities.
  8. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
I am a big fan of Shri Rabindranath Tagore and O’Henry; geniuses like these two are rare for any generation. O’Henry’s unpredictable approach toward each end is fascinating. And I don’t have the guts to even write any wonderful remarks about Tagore, period. I like some of Colleen Hoover’s novels too. Her unique ability to grip your consciousness from the first page is amazing.
  9. What was your hardest scene to write?
Nothing, I think I can write anything, about any damn given topic. Besides, it is my very own dear creation. When you create something out of love, it automatically gives you immense peace and ease.
  10. Do you have another plot brewing?
I have already finished my second Novel and am hoping for the release soon.
