Vishav Deepak Trikha, a retired government officer and a freelance theatre artist, has been recognized for his contributions to the arts and culture of the state. Born in Jagraon, Punjab in 1954, Trikha completed his education from prestigious institutions such as St. Crispin’s Convent, Higher Secondary School, DAV, Govt College Sector 14 Gurgaon, Rohtak University, and Kurukshetra University.
Trikha has been actively involved in theatre since his college days in 1969 and has performed in various plays and films in Hindi and regional languages, as well as web series. After working in the New India Assurance Company Ltd as a Branch Manager for over 30 years, Trikha was appointed as Dy Director cum Incharge of Multi Art Cultural Centre Kurukshetra in 2008, where he worked for the promotion of art and culture of the state. Currently, Trikha is working as a freelance theatre artist.
Trikha has received many awards and recognition from various social and cultural organizations of the country. He was honored twice by the District Administration Rohtak on the occasion of Republic Day, and was selected by the National School of Drama (NSD) for the selection committee of Bharangam for three years. He remained a member of the Governing body of the North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) for three years and also served as a member of the finance committee of NCZCC.
In spite of having an uneventful career in terms of controversies, Trikha has been involved in a controversy when he criticized the government for not doing enough for the starving artists during the coronavirus pandemic. He claims that he was blacklisted as an artist from the panel for speaking out against the government. Additionally, there have been allegations of extra-marital affairs in his personal life, causing some strain within his family.
Trikha has been married to Neelam Thakur, a Rajput, since 1981 and has three daughters named Pooja, Gunjan, and Hina. He belongs to the Brahmin community and his marriage was a love marriage. Overall, Trikha’s contributions to the arts and culture of the state have been widely recognized, and he continues to work as a freelance theatre artist.
