About The Author: Born on May 5, 1980, in the Nawanshahr district of Punjab, Niti took up the pen to vent her feelings. Today she is working as a bank employee in the northeastern state of Tripura, and she is the General Secretary of Purvodaya, a social organisation that started with a very unique idea. After a long professional journey, she is still exploring new topics related to the Indian culture and heritage, and trying to keep her books simple and convenient for young students to understand our Indian Traditions… Niti has also published her poetry collection named ‘Pehla Prayas’.
Summary Of The Book: The ancient period consisted of two Education Systems, Vedic and Buddhist, and was based on Vedas and Upanishad. It was structured around the Manusmriti, one of the oldest Hindu scriptures and the Arthashastra, a classic treatise on the law of Dharma by Kautilya. The Ancient Indian Education System was based on the prominence of the way of life and humanity. The Guru-Shishya relationship was influential and highly respected. This book explains the model of the Ancient Education System that shaped the knowledge structure and its eventual adaptation into the Modern Education System. The author chronicles the differences in the Indian Knowledge System dating back to the 2nd century BCE, its strong points as well as its shortcomings, its alterations during the Islamic and European invasion ultimately to the New Education Policy of India 2020.

It’s a book based on the basic information regarding Indian Knowledge System of education, With its origins and roots in the early periods of civilizations in the Indian subcontinent, the source of growth and development of diverse cultures and has played a pivotal role in the mainstreaming of knowledge across the world.
2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?
By researching and exploring diverse facets of Indian knowledge systems, I hope to provide both a comprehensive overview of their potential benefits and a concrete set of recommendations for how these systems should be used in the context of the education system in the future.
3. What got you writing in the first place?
India has emerged as a prominent world power, playing a greater role on the international stage, Nevertheless, as India’s economy and international status continue to grow, the importance and relevance of traditional Indian knowledge systems may increase. There is a growing realization among the public that these systems can provide valuable insight into the nation’s past and the modern challenges the world is facing today. Moreover, many educational institutions are now beginning to recognize this and are making efforts to reintroduce Indian knowledge systems in their curriculum.
4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
A first draft of anything you write is just the beginning. It is a process of getting your thoughts on paper. My first draft was the most enjoyable part of my writing journey because I allowed myself to go with the flow with absolutely no rules or ideas but Make sure everything is factually accurate.
5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
As it’s a Non fiction book I tried my best to provide a wealth of information by presenting a credible source of historical knowledge and offering various insights into many topics.
6. What makes your book the one to read?
Reading about India’s knowledge system of education is important to gain a better understanding of India’s educational landscape. India has a long and diverse history, and its knowledge system is one of the main elements that make it an influential nation. Through reading about India’s knowledge system of education, you can gain insight into India’s educational achievements and challenges, understand the underlying principles and philosophies that matriculate its educational system, and identify the underlying strategies, processes, and resources of the Indian education system.
7. What was the best advice you got while writing?
Every reader has its own choice of reading and understanding, The best advice that I got while writing about Indian knowledge system of education was to look beyond the conventional textbooks, textbooks of renowned authors, and published research papers. It is important to utilize a variety of resources, including regional works and regional authors, to gain a well-rounded understanding of the knowledge system. In addition, it is important to be aware of the historical and cultural roots of the subject matter and to explore the cultural contexts from which it has emerged. Examining primary sources collected from different parts of India and engaging with diverse perspectives is beneficial in building an in-depth understanding of the past. This process not only allows for a holistic understanding of the knowledge system but also serves as a help in developing a comprehensive view of the present.
8. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
I’m highly inspired by The historical work of Dharampal — stretching over the past four decades – has stimulated a radically fresh perspective on the nature, design, organization and technological contributions of Indian society. Collected Writings of Dharampal – Five Volume (I-V), Beautiful Tree among one of them, Traditional Knowledge System in India by Amit JhaIndian, Knowledge Systems – Vol 1 & 2 by Avadhesh K. Singh, Kapil Kapoor.
9. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
We all go through unique experiences—personal, and professional—throughout our lives. Sharing your knowledge will help you gain credibility. This could be anything from “How to nail creative writing” to “How to write effective one”.so write from heart even if its non fiction. Second, it is easy to read. Make sure you write in plain English, so the information is not intimidating for your reader.
10. What was your hardest scene to write?
As it’s a non fiction book of factsa lot of reasearch was required to put dow .before everyone which consume much more time to finalize it.
