The spiritual traditions of Sanatan Dharma hold a deep reverence for Akharas, institutions dedicated to the pursuit of spiritual and philosophical enlightenment. In keeping with this tradition, NRI Acharya Haridas Gupta has taken the initiative to establish “Kailash Akhara.” The primary objective of this Akhara is to unite the followers of Lord Shiva and raise awareness about the challenges and mysteries associated with Kailash Mansarovar.
During the grand spectacle of the Mahakumbh 2025, Acharya Haridas Gupta has organized a special camp that has drawn thousands of devotees from across India and abroad. The camp has become a melting pot of cultures and spiritual fervor, welcoming devotees from countries such as Singapore, Dubai, Malaysia, the United States, Thailand, Italy, and Switzerland. Attendees are experiencing the profound spirituality of the Mahakumbh, and the camp also provides langar services, ensuring that every visitor partakes in the spirit of community and devotion.
In a significant announcement during the Mahakumbh, Acharya Haridas Gupta formally declared the establishment of “Kailash Akhara.” The Akhara aims to propagate the spiritual significance of Kailash Mansarovar to the masses, highlight the challenges faced during the pilgrimage, and work toward their resolution. Additionally, it seeks to unite Sanatan Dharma followers from around the world and promote spiritual consciousness and devotion to Lord Shiva.
Despite numerous challenges, Acharya Haridas Gupta has remained unwavering in his mission. He sought support from saints, sages, and political leaders, yet encountered disappointment at various junctures. However, his determination remained unshaken, and he continued his efforts with relentless dedication.
His initiative has garnered the support of prominent figures, including the head of the Aghori Akhara in Prayagraj, Jagat Guru Budheshwar Maharaj Ji, and Yogi Chhotunath Ji from Amritsar. Additionally, members of the Sikh community have also pledged their assistance in this sacred endeavor.
