- INX Media Case: Action against Congress MP Karti Chidambaram, ED attaches assets worth Rs 11.04 crore
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken action against Karti Chidambam, son of Congress MP and former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram. The ED on Tuesday attached assets worth Rs 11.04 crore of Karti Chidambaram in the INX money laundering case. This information was given in an official statement here.
Order issued under money laundering
The ED said that one of the four attached properties is an immovable property located in Coorg district of Karnataka. A provisional order has been issued against Karti under money laundering charges, the statement said.

CBI and ED had arrested
Please tell that Karti Chidambaram is the current MP from Sivagangai Lok Sabha seat of Tamil Nadu. Karti Chidambaram was arrested by both CBI and ED in the INX case. The case pertains to receiving illegal funds directly or indirectly from INX Media Pvt Ltd, which had received Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) approval during her father’s tenure as Union Finance Minister in the then UPA government.
Also accused in issuing visas to Chinese citizens
Karti Chidambaram is also an accused in the issue of visas to Chinese nationals. In the year 2011, there were allegations of irregularities in issuing visas to 263 Chinese nationals. ED is also probing this matter. It is alleged that he has taken bribe in lieu of getting visa.
