- To boost the reach of physical books by talented child authors
Bookosmia, India’s No 1 publisher ‘For kids by kids’ publishing thousands of children digitally from 150+ locations announces a partnership with The Write Order publications, a Pratilipi Group company.
With this tie-up, Bookosmia’s distinct, refreshing, and world-class content created by talented young writers under-17s will find a wider audience through The Write Order Publications’ outstanding marketing and distribution network.
In keeping with Bookosmia’s motto of making ‘every young voice feel heard’, the books written by these young authors are as varied as Smash! – an anthology of unfair tales with a modern twist, Small Stories, Big Thoughts – a collection of writings by a 17-year-old who is on the autism spectrum, Aachi Thatha’s Kitchen – an 8-year-old’s endearing book of recipes and stories from his grandparents to upcoming titles on Mahabharata, Indian railways, fantasy fiction, poetry and more.
Para on where the books will now be available- bookstores, locations, etc with The Write Order Publication network.
Nidhi’s Quote here: ” We are excited about this tie-up. Our focus has always been on curating content for and by kids and providing them a platform where each child is celebrated, outside of the confines of report cards and classrooms. Our digital stories reach various corners of the world and are great for reach. So we never had the intent or bandwidth to focus on the physical distribution of books. Other than the operational effort it takes, physical distribution to bookstores in India is still a traditional model and is built to serve old and established publishers. Given Pratilipi’s acquisition of Amazon’s Westland Publishing, they have inherited a massive distribution network and we are very happy to leverage it for our books by partnering with The Write Order, a Pratilipi group company. We are now publishing 2-3 physical books every month and hope this will disrupt the children’s publishing industry which always tells stories by adult writers to kids, never asking them for what they have to say.”
Bookosmia co-founder Archana Mohan, an award-winning author, and ex-journalist who leads the Sprout Programme to mentor young writers add, ” We are excited to see parents encouraging their children to express themselves. Our publishing program is not only for those who think they are great at creative writing. We promote art, blogs, podcasts- any means for our young audience to give voice to their thoughts and ideas”
The Write Order quote here: “We are thrilled to partner with Bookosmia, we see the children’s books market in India is growing by leaps and bounds. Via the partnership, we look forward to bridging the gap between good content and its distribution to end readers. The Write Order has a presence in more than 250+ bookstores and 100+ cities we look forward to leveraging the same to promote more Indian children’s content that imparts Moral, Cultural, and truly Indian ethos among kids”
