Let’s dive into the author’s insights-
- We got to know that you are also a reader. So what do you love to read the most and how has that influenced your writing?
I am deeply passionate about reading, and romance happens to be my favorite genre. When I dive into a beautifully crafted romance novel, it reminds me of the magic that love can bring into our lives, and I aspire to recreate that enchantment in my own work. Colleen Hoover holds a special place in my literary world. Her writing has become a constant source of inspiration, as she skillfully weaves emotions into her stories, leaving an indelible mark on readers’ souls.
2. We know that you were a chef, so what led you to opt out of that profession and get into what you are doing now?
Cooking had always been my passion, but when I became a mom, I didn’t want to miss witnessing tiny milestones as my children grew. During those beautiful, busy days of raising my children, I began pouring my thoughts into a blog, sharing parenting tips and snippets of my daily adventures. Then there was no looking back and I started writing professionally. he journey has been sprinkled with creative exploration and the satisfaction of knowing I’m following my heart. Now, as I look back on my eight-year writing adventure, I’m grateful for the path I chose. It has allowed me to be present for my children, nurturing them with love and witnessing their growth. Simultaneously, it has allowed me to express my creativity and give voice to various brands as a writer.
3. Tell us about your favorite character from your stories? Will we see more of them in your future works?
Every character in my stories holds a special place in my heart, but if I were to choose one favorite, it would be Devika. She represents my younger self and embodies my passion and creativity during that time. Her role as a chef adds to the charm.
As for future works, while I cannot predict which characters will appear, there’s a strong possibility that you may see Devika again in my future works. So keep your eyes peeled, as her culinary adventures may continue to unfold in new and unexpected ways.
4. Do you prefer classic or modern romantic literature as a reader and author?
While classics hold their own timeless charm and elegance, both as an author and a reader, I find myself drawn more toward modern romance literature. Modern romance often delves into the complexities of human relationships, explores diverse perspectives, and embraces a wider range of experiences.
5. In your stories you try to focus on societal issues and mindsets besides romance. What has driven you to do so?
Society is constantly evolving. By incorporating societal issues into my stories, I aim to provide a platform for readers to engage with and contemplate these subjects in a relatable context. Furthermore, delving into societal issues allows me to challenge prevailing norms and biases, promote empathy, and encourage personal growth and understanding.
6. Can your readers expect you to venture into other genres as well?
As of now, my primary focus is on writing romance. However, I understand that the future is unpredictable, and I am aware that opportunities may arise for me to explore other genres. So I guess, let the future unfold and give that answer!
7. What made you write short stories specifically? Would there be a full-fledged novel too?
Short stories are quick and suited to today’s fast-paced lifestyle, where readers often have shorter attention spans and limited time. They also provide an immediate connection with readers, offering impactful narratives in a shorter timeframe. But yes, I am also actively working on a full-fledged romance novel. I recognize the appeal of longer narratives and the opportunity to delve deeper into character development and complex storylines.
