About the author: I’m an educationist by profession, a competent postgraduate in zoology, and an alumnus of the prestigious Miranda House College.
When I retired from my service, I constantly looked back on the years that passed by and tried to explore my life through my lens. I found that my life was a treasure trove of wonderful experiences stretching from sweet & bitter life lessons to cherished & forgotten memoirs. My instincts drew me closer to putting them all in a book.
Summary of the book: The book is a collection of life quotes derived from my life‘s personal experiences. I have expressed my viewpoints on a number of subjects like happiness, health, children, family, relationships, attitude, moods, positivity, humanity, society, and various other topics which touch our lives on a day-to-day basis. My circumstances and the way they tracked and shaped my life have all added to my life‘s valuable vision, which I have put forth in the book. I see this book as a pleasant journey of life, with several practical solutions, guidance, and cautions in hand, making it more of a ‘handbook of life lessons’.
- Can you tell us a little about your book?
The book deals in nurturing life lessons, which can become the forerunners of leading a happy and blissful life through the addends in the form of practical solutions, hidden in the quotes. - Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out-of-the-blue idea?
Definitely, as every story or book has a triggering or inspiring story behind it, so has mine. I experienced many moments in my life where I was enthralled and many where I was distressed. When I realized both my sons intend to settle overseas, I couldn’t take this change very easily in life and felt as if someone clinched my heart tightly and I was left tormented. That was the time I wrote my first quote and this is also my favorite one. - What got are you writing in the first place?
Since I was writing about daily experiences in the form of quotes, a few turned out to be really interesting and influential. So, I thought of reaching out to people with my quotes by way of a book. - What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
I was totally amazed and it was a dream come true. I couldn’t believe that what I felt was a daily routine work for me could become so impressive as golden words. - Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
I connect the most with the quote that mentions my relationship and feelings for my sons. It says- “The bird would have never gone out of the nest… Had she known the fledglings would fly away so soon…” - What makes your book the one to read?
My book relates to the daily life experiences which more or less every person comes across in his/her life. It relates to the emotions of a common man and provides effective practical solutions to handle them. The simple language of the book makes it even more impulsive to read. - What was the best advice you got while writing?
The best advice I got was to focus on the ‘strength of the quote’ rather than abiding to a particular topic or emotion or expression for writing the quotes. - Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
In fact, I personally like reading English Classics a lot. Charles Dickens and Jane Austen are particularly my favorites. - What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
My sincere tip to the writers is that they should write what interests them. They should write what they believe in and they should write what comes from within them. Originality is basic to any form of art. - Do you have another plot brewing?
Yes, it’s already in my mind and it will be enough to say at this stage that my next book will share the meat and potatoes of my job experiences.
