Increase awareness among the citizens at the grass root level, the Eat Rights Millet Mela are being conducted across the country In this regard

ERMM, Bangalore To increase awareness among the citizens at the grass root level, the Eat Rights Millet Mela are being conducted across the country. In this regard, FSSAI (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India) organized a Millet Walkathon event at Cubbon Park, Bengaluru on 19th March, 2023 with CSR support of M/S Amway.

“Need of the hour is to make millets a food choice for the future,” quoted Mr. Sandeep, Health Commissioner, Karnataka.

“Millets are a good way to increase agricultural and dietary diversity,” quoted Dr. Sridhar, Deputy Food Commissioner and Director, Karnataka.

“Congratulates the walkathon and the Food and Agriculture Organization for the launch of the International Year of Millets 2023,” quoted Dr. Manjunath.G, Commissioner Ayush, Karnataka.

The event involved a 5 kilometer walk around the scenic route of Cubbon Park, Bengaluru, accompanied by music and other fun activities for all participants.

The walkathon witnessed an enthusiastic flag off by Sangram Singh, an Indian Wrestler and Actor, Dr. Randeep, Health Commissioner of Banglore & Dr Kumaresan FSSAI . Mr Sangram singh further spoke about overall being and incorporating millets in our daily lives.

Starting off with a welcome note by Nidhi Kumar, Anchor, DD News to having an exclusive session with Sangram Singh, the event turned out as a huge success.
