CLIQ TO CONSULT: Vision 2030 – Digital Health & Human Transformation explores one of the most significant shifts in modern healthcare—the convergence of digital technology, artificial intelligence, leadership, behavioural science, and human compassion. Drawing on more than three decades of leadership in the pharmaceutical industry and extensive doctoral research on digital health adoption, Author Dr. Anjan Kumar Sahoo examines why technology alone cannot transform healthcare unless people trust, understand, and embrace it. Through practical insights, real-world experiences, and evidence-based research, the book offers a roadmap for physicians, healthcare leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, students, and patients to build a healthcare ecosystem that is more accessible, ethical, inclusive, and profoundly human.
1. Can you provide an overview of your book and how it addresses key challenges in the world today?
CLIQ TO CONSULT: Vision 2030 – Digital Health & Human Transformation explores the convergence of healthcare, technology, and human behaviour at a time when the world has unprecedented medical knowledge and advanced digital tools, yet millions still struggle with access, affordability, trust, health literacy, and continuity of care. The book explains that the real challenge is not technology itself, but people’s willingness to trust and adopt it. Drawing on my three decades of leadership in the pharmaceutical industry and doctoral research on digital health adoption, I examine how trust, leadership, ethics, culture, and behavioural science influence digital transformation. Looking ahead to 2030, the book presents a vision where artificial intelligence and digital innovation enhance healthcare while ensuring empathy, equity, and compassion remain at the heart of patient care. The central message is simple: Technology should never replace compassion—it should amplify it.
2. What inspired you to write this book, and what specific expertise or experiences do you bring to the subject matter?
The inspiration for CLIQ TO CONSULT: Vision 2030 – Digital Health & Human Transformation comes from over three decades of leadership in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and my doctoral research on digital health adoption. Throughout my career, I observed that healthcare transformation is driven not only by scientific advancement but also by leadership, trust, accessibility, and people’s willingness to embrace change. My experience introducing digital consultation initiatives before the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by the rapid acceptance of virtual healthcare during the pandemic, reinforced a fundamental question: What truly drives digital health adoption? This question became the foundation of my research and ultimately this book. By combining evidence-based research with real-world leadership experience, the book offers practical insights into how technology, innovation, empathy, and collaboration can work together to build a more accessible, ethical, and human-centred healthcare system.
3. Could you share some of the most valuable insights or takeaways that readers can expect from your book?
The central message of CLIQ TO CONSULT is that the future of healthcare will be shaped not by technology alone, but by how people embrace it. The book explains that successful digital transformation depends on trust, behavioural change, leadership, and empathy as much as it does on artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and other digital innovations. Readers will learn how factors such as perceived value, ease of use, social influence, and trust influence digital health adoption. The book also highlights the evolving role of healthcare leaders, professionals, and patients in creating a more connected and patient-centred healthcare ecosystem. Above all, it emphasizes three key principles: digital health succeeds when people trust it, innovation without empathy is incomplete, and technology should enhance—not replace—human care.
4. Can you highlight any case studies or real-world examples from your book that illustrate the principles you discuss?
One of the strengths of CLIQ TO CONSULT: Vision 2030 – Digital Health & Human Transformation is that it combines research with real-world experiences. A key example is the rapid adoption of teleconsultation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the pandemic, digital consultations saw limited acceptance despite the availability of technology. However, when healthcare delivery was disrupted, telemedicine quickly became a trusted and essential mode of care, demonstrating that successful innovation depends on trust and behavioural readiness as much as technology. The book also draws on my own leadership experience and doctoral research, highlighting how factors such as trust, ease of use, and perceived value influence digital health adoption. These examples show that sustainable digital transformation is driven not only by technological advancement but also by leadership, empathy, and a people-centred approach to healthcare.
5. Are there any particular challenges or obstacles you encountered while writing this book, and how did you overcome them?
Writing CLIQ TO CONSULT: Vision 2030 – Digital Health & Human Transformation was both intellectually challenging and deeply rewarding. The biggest challenge was simplifying complex research and rapidly evolving digital health concepts into practical insights that every reader could understand. I wanted to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world healthcare by combining evidence, leadership experiences, and practical examples. Another challenge was ensuring the book remained relevant despite the fast pace of technological change. Rather than focusing on specific technologies, I emphasized timeless principles such as trust, ethics, empathy, leadership, accessibility, and continuous learning. My goal was to create a practical guide that inspires readers to embrace digital transformation while keeping people and compassion at the centre of healthcare.
6. What do you hope readers will gain from reading your book, and how do you envision it making a positive impact on their lives?
More than anything, I hope readers finish CLIQ TO CONSULT: Vision 2030 – Digital Health & Human Transformation with greater confidence, curiosity, and a sense of responsibility for the future of healthcare. This book is intended not only to inform but also to inspire action. I hope healthcare professionals embrace digital transformation as an opportunity to enhance patient care, leaders build more inclusive and ethical healthcare systems, entrepreneurs create solutions that address real human needs, and patients become active partners in managing their health. Ultimately, I want readers to recognize that the future of healthcare belongs to all of us. By combining technology with trust, empathy, and innovation, we can build a more accessible, compassionate, and patient-centred healthcare ecosystem.
7. In a rapidly changing environment, how does your book stay relevant and adaptable for readers over time?
Healthcare and technology are evolving rapidly, but the principles that drive successful transformation remain constant. In CLIQ TO CONSULT: Vision 2030 – Digital Health & Human Transformation, I focus not on technologies that may become outdated, but on timeless values such as trust, leadership, ethics, accessibility, empathy, and patient-centred care. Rather than predicting every technological breakthrough, the book equips readers with a mindset to embrace change, adapt continuously, and lead with confidence. By emphasizing human behaviour over technology alone, the insights remain relevant for healthcare professionals, policymakers, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, and patients. My goal is to prepare readers not just for the healthcare of today, but for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.
Discover how technology and humanity can work together to shape the future of healthcare.
