Kolkata: Motivational Strips, the worlds most active writers forum had conducted the “Be A Star Global Poetry Championship” in which poets from nearly 103 countries had participated with the number of entries being multiples of that. This contest is considered to be the world’s biggest poetry contest where a poet had to send written poem, along with video of the poet rendering his or her poem to be qualified as a contestant.
Two Kolkata Poets Author Priyanka Banerjee and Poet Ipsita Ganguli had bagged the first and second place in Poetry rendition category after contesting with the world poets for nearly a week. They both additionally won a full paid holiday trip to Oman for three days . It was awarded to them through Be A Star contest sponsors in Oman namely Akbar Group, Akbar Holidays, Best Western hotels and Speedy enterprises.
The results of the grand final was announced on Saturday by the former secretary of Sahitya Akademi and current President of Kerala Sahitya Akademi Dr K Satchidanandan along with RUPA Publications Calcutta Managing Partner Shri Raju Barman.
Dr K Satchidanandan stated that it was a pleasant surprise to see first and second position being bagged by Indian poets especially from Kolkata, despite the jury board being selected from different parts of the world . Shri Raju Barman said that literary legacy of Kolkata shines even in the modern era after congratulating the two poetry champs. The founder of Motivational Strips Shiju H Pallithazheth applauded the impeccable talents of Priyanka and Ipsita while mentioning that Bengal has once again secured its crown in world poetry.
The online event took place amidst the presence of distinguished poets from all across the world. Dr Satchidanandan congratulated Motivational Strips for maintaining literary quality with globally influential contests. Motivational Strips is the world’s most active writers forum with participation of writers from more than 190 countries. The monthly impressions to this forum crosses a whopping 7.5 million every month.
