A 10-inch device is inserted in more than 1000 autos by Indore-based firm Rickshawpedia, which specializes in auto rickshaw video advertising. Prabal and Sumit, who are funding Rickshawpedia, want to eventually take it to other places. The funding will be used to increase the startup’s visibility in Indore advertisements.
Prabal Raverkar and Sumit Kaushal founded Rickshawpedia, which now boasts a team of more than 50 people. Rickshawpedia offers video-based advertising inside the auto-rickshaws in Indore, facilitating communication between businesses and passengers. They do this by using android-powered devices installed in the auto-rickshaws in front of the driver’s seat, which display geo-targeted and feature-rich audio-video ads inside the auto-rickshaw.
Using this technique, Rickshawpedia can collect a tonne of information and, based on how different users interact with the android device, educate marketers on the most successful video adverts. Rickshawpedia can also work on raising the revenue of auto-rickshaw drivers by 10% to 15%. Indore’s startup environment is constantly expanding and raising the bar.
According to Prabal, the addition of “touch” via screens and its backend analytics opens up a box of possibilities that help to enhance the content that marketers offer. He said-
“With Rickshawpedia, consumers can follow a campaign throughout its whole life cycle in terms of where it is shown. Brands can also broaden their audience reach to include local consumers. ROI is increased as a result.
As per the requirements, local and web material are intelligently combined through these video ads, said Sumit. In the long run, Rickshawpedia plans to target taxis and public transit, where they may insert interactive dynamic video adverts. Rickshawpedia’s current ambitions call for swift market expansion.
Since Rickshawpedia advertising now only targets Indore’s auto-rickshaws, it will be interesting to see what new features and integrations they develop in the future.
