Kolkata– 15th August 2023: India celebrated her 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Nation First, Always First”. This theme is in line with the government’s focus on national unity and development.
Residents of Soul Complex in Rajarhat joined together and celebrated their patriotism with great fervour on this 77th Independence Day. The function to celebrate this momentous day, by the residents, joined by the staff and service personnel appointed by Primarc group, was a sight to behold. All around, there was a sense of euphoria and pride, with all residents, from children to senior citizens, rejoicing together, in the 77th Independence Day celebrations. The emotive exuberance of the unfurling the tricolour in Red Fort by our honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi which was felt by the entire country, was reflected in true spirit and participation in The Soul – Newtown, Rajarhat.
The ceremony began with the unfurling of the tricolour in the society complex followed by patriotic rendition of the National Anthem by the Soul residents. The rendition was led by the children of The Soul, the future of the Nation. There was also melodious rendition of O Aram Desh Mati, Kara Oi Louho Kopat songs, to pay homage to the freedom fighters, who sacrificed themselves for the freedom of our motherland. The day also saw, sit and draw competitions, recitations, fancy dress competition, quiz competition and exemplification of residents’ patriotism through patriotic dances. On the 77th Independence Day, India is recognized as the leading country in the world by its residents, where all can live together in peace. This spirit of cohabitation and mutual respect and harmony is the main goal of the Soul Complex residents.
The Soul – Newtown Rajarhat is a new large housing society built by the Primarc and PS Group which will be the home and abode of 700+ families. This is the first social event organised by the residents collectively. As shared by a senior resident, this is just the beginning of a calendar of social and cultural events and there are plans of celebrating occasions like Ganesh Chaturthi, Durga Pujo, Lakshmi Pujo, Kali Pujo/Diwali, Christmas, Saraswati Pujo, Holi and many others occasions with much fervour and joy together.
